About Ship Repair Division

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, with its in-house design capability and vast pool of expertise and modern assets, has built and repaired ships for countries including Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Seychelles. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ now has a dedicated ship repair vertical since 2018 to focus on the demand for repairs in the Indian maritime sector.

The Ship Repair department has considerable expertise in the repair/refit of Naval warships, Coast Guard ships and commercial vessels, the team steering this very important verticla of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ has over 25 years of experience both ashore and afloat and has a strong subvendor base as well as OEM network to always meet customer expectations.

The facilities of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ is spread across 04 units namely Main Works, Fitting Out Jetty, Rajabagan Dockyard and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ-Kidderpore Dry Docks each having berthing/docking facility. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ can handle all types of ships up to 145 M for dry docking maintenance in these units. It can also cater to all types of afloat maintenance and repair services. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ is well placed to undertake both scheduled as well as unscheduled/emergency repairs and maintenance including experience of operating and construction of Navy & Coast Guard ships, a sturdy pool of vendors, well-established supply chain system, strong logistics department and a highly expert design office.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ recently concluded Normal refit of :

  • MCGS Barracuda (of Mauritius)
  • GRDD of PS Zoroaster (of Seychelles)
  • Fast Patrol Vessel ICGS Sarojini
  • Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ successfully completed refit of Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vessel ICGS Sujay
  • Scheduled and emergency docking (total 14 Nos) of KOPT Vessels, Coast Guard and commercial ships
  • Refits of Coast Guard FPV Priyadarshini & Offshore Patrol Vessel Vijay during Nov 22 & Jan 23 respectively
  • Medium Refit (MR) of Srilankan OPV which included replacement of all the four Diesel Alternators
  • Rengineering of INS Abhay

In addition to above Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ has a 80 X 25 X 8 M fully covered non-tidal Wet Basin with 2 X 10 tones EOT Cranes suited for all weather fitting-out & repairs of medium and small ships. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ has 03 Jetties (more than 184 M in length) at Fitting Out Jetty Unit of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to caters for the afloat repairs of ships.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ can offer to both Defence and Commercial ships following services :-

  1. Scheduled dry docking & refit management in any of the facilities
  2. In-service-support to ensure maintenance and availability of vessel or fleet in the IOR region
  3. Any work involving mechanical, electrical, steel fabrication works, piping, hydraulic systems etc for maintenance/repair
  4. Technical study and failure analysis
